SEL Lessons based on the best-selling children’s book, The Crayon Box That Talked.

Since its publication in 1997, The Crayon Box that Talked has sold over 2 million copies and has been used by teachers, parents, and homeschoolers around the world to help kids understand the importance of appreciating others, despite our differences, and the value of teamwork and working together to accomplish great things.

Until now, there has never been a set of multimedia Social Emotional Learning Lessons developed by the author (and Big Word Club Plus founder), Shane DeRolf, and his team of academic all-stars.

The poem that started it all

While serving as president of Random House Entertainment, Shane was asked to produce an animated PSA for the Ad Council based on a poem he had written for a national campaign that would help kids understand the importance of appreciating one another, despite our differences, and the value of teamwork.

This is that video.

One year later, The Crayon Box That Talked became a book.
