Welcome to www.bigwordclubplus.com, our website and mobile applications (“Application”), and our pages on Twitter.com, Facebook.com, YouTube.com, and Instagram.com (collectively, the “Site”). The Site is owned and operated by Big Word Club which is a dba of Yesterday’s Zoo LLC. (Big Word Club and Yesterday’s Zoo LLC collectively herein referred to as “we”, “us” or “our”).

  Big Word Club is a multimodal learning company that uses books, songs, animation and movement to improve kids’ vocabularies. Big Word Club’s activities are available to teachers for use in the classroom and to kids outside the classroom. Your privacy and the privacy of children who use Big Word Club and Big Word Club Plus are important to us, and we created this Privacy Policy to inform you of the information we collect when you use the Site, how we use it, and how we share it with others.  

INFORMATION WE COLLECT 

Information we collect from educators When an educator registers, we collect first name, last name, email address, username, zip code, password, and the school in which they teach/use Big Word Club and Big Word Club Plus.  

Information we collect from parents 

When a parent subscribes to Big Word Club or Big Word Club Plus as either a paid subscriber or a “freemium user” (unpaid subscription with limited access to content), we collect an email address, username and password. We use the parent’s email address to send the parent a message that can be used to verify their Big Word Club or Big Word Club Plus account, to notify the parent about our privacy practices, to send the parent communications either about their Big Word Club or their Big Word Club Plus account or about features of our website and apps, and for the other purposes described in this Privacy Policy.  

Information we automatically collect from all users 

When a user registers for Big Word Club, and each time a user logs into Big Word Club to play a video, we automatically collect the Internet Protocol (“IP”) address of the computer or mobile device being used to access Big Word Club as well as information about the user’s web browser or app. This information is used only to provide an enhanced experience for our visitors by optimizing our web pages for your computer or device (e.g. the type of operating system you use (Mac or Windows), and the domain name of your Internet service provider). We may also use this non-personal information to develop utilization data on our site.  

We may also use cookies, small files that we place in a user’s computer browser to collect information regarding preferences, for internal purposes. Cookies do not contain any personally identifiable information. With most Internet browsers, you can erase cookies from your computer hard drive, block all cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored. Please refer to your browser instructions or help screen to learn more about these functions. If you turn off cookies, you will not have access to some of the features that make your experience on our Site smoother, and some of our services may not function properly.  

We use the information collected from parents and teachers for internal purposes only, such as helping users keep track of the activities they have played, to help us understand the general location of Big Word Club or Big Word Club Plus users, and to help us operate and improve Big Word Club and Big Word Club Plus. We use the parents’ email address to communicate about their children’s use of Big Word Club and Big Word Club Plus, to let them know about updates to the Site, and to notify parents of offers related to Big Word Club and Big Word Club activities that may interest them. Parents may opt out of receiving email communications at any time.  

When We May Share Your Personal Information

 We do not sell, exchange or share any of the personal information we collect from Big Word Club or Big Word Club Plus users with any other entity, except in the following circumstances:

  Changes to our Business 

If we are acquired by a third party as a result of a transaction such as a merger, acquisition or asset sale or if our assets are acquired by a third party in the event we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, some or all of our assets, including your personal information, may be disclosed or transferred to a third party acquirer in connection with the transaction.  

Legal Requirements

 We comply with the law. We may disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate: (i) to respond to claims, legal process (including subpoenas); (ii) to protect our property, rights and safety and the property, rights and safety of a third party or the public in general; and (iii) to stop any activity that we consider illegal, unethical or legally actionable.

  ACCOUNT DELETION 

Users may request deletion of their accounts by emailing us at support@bigwordclubplus.com When you delete your account, all of your information is permanently deleted, and cannot be recovered.  

HOW CAN PARENTS OR USERS ACCESS, UPDATE, OR DELETE PERSONAL INFORMATION? 

You can request to review, correct, update or have deleted your (or your child’s) personally identifiable information from our database by writing to us at or Privacy Request, Big Word Club, P.O. BOX 7477. Please include your name, email address and a telephone number where we can reach you. To protect you and/or your child’s privacy and security, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting you access to the personal information that we collect and maintain about you and/or your child.

  RESPONDING TO DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS 

Our site does not have the capability to respond to “Do Not Track” signals received from various web browsers.  

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY 

We may make changes to this privacy policy from time to time, and you should review it periodically so that you are updated on any changes. Changes are effective once posted on the Site. If we make any material changes to our collection, use or sharing of personal information of children under 13, we will notify parents using the parent’s email address provided during registration.
